Rethinking Social Media
Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. – Philippians 2:5-7
We are to have the mind and thinking of Christ Jesus, who made Himself a man of no reputation, indeed, made Himself nothing.
What does social media do for you? For us?
I’m just asking.
Jesus gave up riches (2 Cor. 8:9), heavenly glory (John 17:4), independent exercise of authority (Heb. 5:8; John 5:30; cf. John 5:19; 14;24.)
Does social media teach, exemplify or help Christians take the form of a servant, or does it tempt us to self-exaltation and self-glory?
Keep in mind, it’s not the thing, but the heart, not what goes in but what comes out of a man that defiles him.
I sense a need for much, much grace.
Food for thought.
