Preaching is Not Dialogue

Brethren, preaching is not a dialogue. It’s the proclamation of God’s whole counsel by a man called of God, set apart by the Church, more often than not to a people who want dialogue instead of submitting to God and pastoral authority. That’s preaching. If you want dialogue, you need repentance.

What Hath the SBC Wrought?

The decline [the high level of spiritual toxicity in modern evangelicalism] over the last twenty years is a damning (literally) indictment of Church growth pragmatism as the primary methodology, contemporary worship as the primary liturgy, the conservative resurgence of the SBC as the primary perpetrator of these heretical practices, and, of course, of that which […]

Cooperative Baptists Going the Way of Emergents

There’s a disturbing and growing trend in Baptist camps, namely, that of the practice of contemplative worship. It’s an ancient form of worship alright, but it’s not biblical. Just more strange fire leading Protestants back to Romish popery. This article in the Associated Baptist Press (ABP) talks about this growing trend. Listen to one […]

A.W. Pink: The Supremacy Of God

“Your thoughts of God are too human…” – Luther In one of his letters to Erasmus, Luther said, “Your thoughts of God are too human.” Probably that renowned scholar resented such a rebuke, the more so, since it proceeded from a miner’s son; nevertheless, it was thoroughly deserved. We too, though having no standing […]

The Myth Of The Two-Natured Christian

A few years ago, I took a class of people through Romans chapters 6 through 8. Chapter 6 alone had made such an impact on my own thinking, I was busting at the seams, so to speak, to teach it. Of course, in order to understand Romans 6, you must, by necessity, at the very […]

A Modern Gospel False Convert

A perfect example….. The following audio is not exactly high quality, but, keep the following in mind, the young man being interviewed is: 1) The son of a pastor who ‘left Christianity’ 2) A graduate of Calvary Chapel College I’m a ‘pk’ myself, so remember, “He will have mercy on whom He will have […]

James MacDonald: Brian McLaren Is A False Teacher And A Danger To Young People

James MacDonald of Harvest Bible Fellowship has some insightful commentary on the dangers of false teacher Brian McLaren in a post on their blog Straight Up.  Entitled “The Public Rebuke of False Teachers” MacDonald drives home the point that “all denials of orthodox Christianity end up in a theological dumpster, not bearing fruit or winning […]

Five Errors That Arise From Christ-Replacements

by John Hendryx Jesus Christ: The Interpretive Key to the Scripture With Five Examples of Doctrinal Errors that Arise When this Key is not Used. “You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; it is these that testify about Me; and you are unwilling to come to Me so […]

Red Envelope Project: A Futile Attempt to Change Obama’s Heart

I’m not against Christians being involved in politics, far from it. But this latest project driven no doubt by well-meaning people is simply unbiblical, it is absurd, and it is futile. The Red Envelope Project is a waste of time if the intent is to “change the Presidents heart” as said by the projects founder, […]

The Church Walking With The World

THE CHURCH AND THE WORLD walked far apart On the changing shores of time, The World was singing a giddy song, And the Church a hymn sublime. "Come, give me your hand," said the merry World "And walk with me this way!" But the good Church hid her snowy hands And solemnly answered "Nay, I […]

Plato in Your Living Room

Updated, and hopefully, clarified! –JT  Recently, in a well known address by Paul Washer, he made the following statement in reference to his seminary days: “….I remember a professor walked in and he started drawing footprints on the blackboard. And as he marched them across the blackboard then he turned to all of us and […]
