Q&A: Will the Sins of Christians Be Revealed At the Final Judgment?
Speculation. We’ll have none of that here. Let’s stick to “What saith the Scriptures?”
First, Revelations 20:12
And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books, according to their deeds.
“And the books were opened.”
No man knows what those books are called. And that’s not the question here.
According to God, through the psalmist, every wicked man thinks or says that God has forgotten his wicked deeds, his sins, and will never call them to account for them (Psalm 10, 11-13). But that’s not the question here.
The clear fact is this, books will be opened, and what’s in them is also clear in the context. Men will be judged “according to their deeds.” Boom, there it is. But that’s not the question here.
There’s another book opened, the Book of Life. It’s a totally different kind of book. It’s mentioned 7 times in Revelation. It contains the names of the elect unto salvation. Their names were written in it from before the foundation of the world itself (13:8; 17:8; Eph. 1:3-6). Paul spoke of it (Php 4:3), as did Moses (Ex. 32:32), David (Ps 69:28), Daniel (11:1) and Malachi (3:16). And no, that’s not the question here.
There are two sets of books, one containing the deeds of men, the other, only names. But that doesn’t answer the question either.
This does.
All who are saved, blessed with all spiritual blessings are those whom God has chosen unto salvation from eternity past (Eph. 1:3-6). Election, that is it. Those who are lost and damned for all eternity are such because of their deeds – remembered and recorded by the high court of heaven.
Jesus Christ did not come to destroy the Law, but fulfill it (Matthew 5:17).
Jesus kept the commandments as our Substitute. By faith alone, God makes the obedience of His Son, Christ Jesus, our own. In Him, we have fulfilled the commandments of the Law of God. Are you with me?
In God’s book, the righteousness of Christ Jesus is credited to our account.
Has every true believer done everything the Law of God requires? YES! “He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” – 2 Corinthians 5:21
ALL sins, all evil done by Christians, that you or I have committed, have been blotted out from the books of the final judgment (Isaiah 43:25). God will remember the sins of Babylon, the unbelieving world (Rev. 18:5) yet He has promised that He will forget the sins of His people (Jer. 31:34; Isa 43:25). That’s you and I – if you be in Christ.
The only works, deeds, of a true believer which will be remembered by God at the final judgment are the good deeds done in faith (Matt. 25:35; Rev. 14:13), acceptable to God through the forgiveness we have in Christ Jesus (I Peter 2:5).
Only in that sense, are believers judged according to their works.
And that, my friends, answers the question. God bless.

Excellent post! Thank you! 😄
Even our good deeds are part of the grace of God which He planned beforehand (Eph 2:10). Not that I labor but God labors within me (1 Cor 15:10).
