I watched this and couldn’t help remembering the dear brother who pastored the church that my grandparents attended. He worked a full time job as a carpenter (yep) because the small congregation was too poor to support a pastor. He also preached Sunday morning, Sunday night, and Wednesday night. One thing is clear from both the Old and New Testaments; tell them what they want to hear, and they’ll not only fill your building, they will buy your books. Sad.
2 Peter 2:1-3 (KJV)
2 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.
Furtick’s been fighting for a while.
He anticipated these critiques.

(Do I detect a little anger/ bitterness/ even hatred in SF’s voice?)
I was not aware Freddie Mercury had a son…
I am never surprised by these money hungry narcissitic clowns, but I am somewhat taken aback at how many gullible folk see something genuinely spiritual in such overt foolishenss.
And though this is merely my personal observation, I must admit just watching this fellow “preach” creates a viscerally negative reaction. Maybe it isn’t Freddie Mercury he reminds me so much of as Jim Carey doing a bad preacher imitation.
