Didn’t have time to watch the vid, but the answer is yes and no. Yes, when the King returns and the church and government are one. Until then, no way. Let a Presbyterian run it, and all us Baptists will be toast.
He is absolutely King. He is also going to return. I expect to spend a glorious eternity under the rule of a King whose reign is characerized by righteousness. History has shown us enough of “Theocracies” that were any thing but. I’ll take my chances with Pagans. I wouldn’t trust a Theonomists as far as I could throw him.
I don’t trust anyone to govern with equity other than the King who is enthroned in the heavens. That includes pagans and Theonomic reformers. I have been looking over my shoulder ever since I learned about Zwingli. The New England Puritans didn’t ease my mind any. Those guys will go Old Covenant on you in a heartbeat.

We are presently living in a theocracy. Christ reigns now from His position at the right of the Father. All authority in heaven and earth has been to Him (Matt 28:18) and from there He shall rule until all enemies are made a footstool for His feet (Hebrews 10:13). He does not have to be physically present on the earth for Him to rule. Whether you acknowledge His authority or not, someday we will all answer to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
Yes, indeed! Aren’t we commanded to do so by our Lord? And I’m sorry, but I am one of those theonomists! We aren’t talking about some kind of dictator with a Bible in his hand, just that our leaders recognize Christ’s Kingship and that the nation’s laws reflect the “general equity,” as the Westminster Confession 19:4 states, of the Old Testament case law. This is quite compatible with a constitutional republic.

So Christ is not already King? Baptists are much better off under Pagan rule? Maybe you would do well to have a look at the video.

Absolutely true.
Brother Berry,
Don’t you think we can still pray, “May your kingdom come, on earth as it is in heaven?”
