Tony Miano – Unsent
This is more than disturbing. Brethren, if the local Church which you are a member of, in good standing, has not set you apart and recognized you as called of God, you should not be preaching at all.
From Tony Miano’s own bio we learn that:
Tony served as a chaplain for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department from 2000 to 2008.
And…
Tony has preached in many churches across the United States and in Canada. He has served as the keynote speaker at several different conferences. He is committed to expository preaching.
Yet, just last week, I asked Tony point blank if he had been set apart by the Church as a preacher of the Gospel, and he said no.
These are his words, not mine. There it is. That means that for, at least, the last 12 years, according to Tony himself, young people have been listening to a man who usurped authority as a minister of God, never having been set apart by the Church, as a minister of the Gospel.
It’s one thing, brethren, to witness to others on the street and to share the Gospel, which all Christians are called to do. It’s quite another to falsely pass yourself off to the world, and more importantly, to the Church, as being called of God and set apart by the Church as a minister.
This should not be taken lightly.
When I asked Tony about this, and expressed my concern for him and his actions, his response was less than Christian:
Disturbing is an understatement. What Tony has done, and has admitted with his own words, is a clear example of the rejection of the authority of the Church. He does what is right in his own eyes.
