Conservative Politics Is Not the Answer to Liberalism

Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people. – Proverbs 14:34

JoelI trust in a Holy, Sovereign God who works His will among men and nations to accomplish His all wise purpose. People who trust and obey Him in His expressed will are blessed. The nation that follows His will will be exalted among all other nations, but the nation that spurns His righteous will, of a necessity, will suffer the consequences of His wrathful displeasure.

The most recent election reveals how far our nation has come from the moral and spiritual principles set forth in common law derived from Biblical principles and incorporated in our Constitution as the law of the land. These principles, if followed, would, and did, bring forth a great confederation of nations we used to know as the United StateS (plural) of America. No longer. We are now the United State (singular) of America. No sooner were the principles set forth in our Constitution, that they were under attack by the ungodly enemy. Alexis de Tocqueville visited America and concluded that

America is great because she is good; if she ever ceases to be good she will no longer be great.

He understood that national greatness is, in its truest sense, the result of moral and spiritual goodness. This stands in conflict with the definition of greatness by the nations of history. They assume that greatness is equated with the power to control the masses, gain incredible wealth and by such create a ruling empire. The long deified Lincoln understood greatness in the same vein as Alexander, the Roman Caesars and men who by force of arms created such empires, but who failed to see that in such greatness there is the destruction of goodness. His disdain for Christ and Christianity, for liberty and the Constitution moved him to set in motion an evil that would create the most powerful nation upon earth, but one that in the process would lose its national moral purity and spiritual strength. Of course, national moral purity and spiritual strength is founded upon individual moral purity and spiritual strength. Together, you have a ‘good’ nation. Without these, you have the pattern since the days of Cain, the likes of Nimrod, the builder of mighty cities, and the end has always been the same.

The history of the nations and the clear Word of God stands as a warning to modern America and her leaders that Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people. To ignore such clear truth and fail to bring about a corrective course to the present unrestrained depraved action can only spell doom for our nation. Nations do not first fail because of economic causes. They fail because of moral and spiritual collapse.

We have come a far distance from the “New Jerusalem” dreams of our forefathers of a land of peace, liberty and prosperity. The only law of the land has been replaced by a moronic lawyer society (I’ve never known or met a truly intelligent one) that makes the laws, interprets them to suit their own purpose and enacts judgment against the nation to promote an ungodliness that will bring down the wrath of God upon our beloved country.

The word of warning to the Church at Ephesus needs to be considered by our leaders and the people of this land:

Therefore remember from where you have fallen, and repent and do the deeds you did at first; or else I am coming to you and will remove your lampstand out of its place—unless you repent. – Revelation 2:5

Note four words that if applied to a people who profess godliness in such a serious and notorious vein, how much more so to a nation: Remember, Repent, Return, or be Removed.

God promises His blessings on a righteous nation, but He will remove the wicked from their place in history.

This is precisely where so many well-meaning Christians have erred. They see the answer to the current social, moral and spiritual dilemma of America in conservatism, or conservative politics. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Listen America, conservatism is not the answer to liberalism. It never has been and never will be. Conservatism is not the cure for liberalism. Conservatism is always empty, asinine and mindless. It’s always the mere shadow of liberalism; mimicking it and moving in the same direction with the same goals. It is never against it. Why? Because at its core, conservatism is always reactive. It is neither active nor pro-active. It simply reacts to liberalism. The only cure for liberalism is orthodoxy, Christianity, the Gospel.

The Republican party is not conservative. It is not Christian. It is neither concerned with family or traditional cultural values. It doesn’t care about you; it doesn’t even care about America itself, its history, nothing.

The Republican party, and it’s cult followers of conservatives care only about the political power, control and perks of an earthly minded tyranny which is desired by the same northeastern group of men in the 1860’s who all belong to their father, the Devil.

Perhaps the best spiritual advice to every ‘conservative’ Christian is to stop listening to Hannity, Limbaugh, Glenn Beck and Fox News, and start heeding the Word of God. Stop being spoon-fed by Mormons and other unregenerates on how to think about current events, allowing them to form your worldviews for you. Read continuously, prayerfully God’s Word, and think for yourself with the mind that your Creator gave you.

Let America once again be great because it is ‘good’. Let America once again be great, exalted, because it heeded the Word of God and sought righteousness, and not sin.
