Brief Thoughts of Halloween & Reformation Day

Today is Halloween. Our sign for the door tonight is ready: "Please, don’t bother knocking, we have no candy. Go to Church Sunday."

I don’t hate Halloween, I just hate giving candy to kids. Let ’em mow my yard first, hoe the garden, paint a room, then I’ll reward them.

Welfare state thinking starts on Halloween night. Somethin for nothin’…and don’t you threaten me you little devils. Get outta my yard!

Don’t make ‘reformation day’ a holy day. It’s not. Some just want it to be. It’s a great ingredient for a big ‘ol batch of idolatry. Don’t get caught up in that garbage.

‘Reformation Day’ is not a holy day. It’s more like an invitation to idolatry.
