James White: Ergun Caner & The Great Evangelical Cover-Up
“A mountain of factual information has been produced demonstrating Ergun Caner has engaged in gross dishonesty in his self-promoting claims. Yet, now that he has “cover” from the likes of Norman Geisler, Caner is back to his old ways, mocking his critics and spinning a tale.”

I still love the lava lamp and the twisted light thingy on White’s desk… 😉
Thanks to Dr. White and others (including JT) for not allowing Caner to continue in his apparent lies. This guy is unbelievable. White makes a good point about being confused about whether Caner should repent and be restored or whether he needs to repent and be saved… this is a valid concern since Caner has apparently been lying his whole professional career!
Look, none of us know whether anyone is truly saved and it is above our pay-grades to do so anyway but we must not shy away from challenging people who step outside of the scripture with their beliefs and/or behavior.
Look how far Rick Warren and others have strayed from scripture and they are rarely called out for it. Christians are afraid of their power.
As we sit in our basements being frustrated (according to Caner), let us carefully consider scripture as we make our decisions to pursue life. Let us also question others if/when they step outside of scripture in their behavior or beliefs. A good portion of the NT tells us to hold strong to truth and reject false teaching/teachers. What is the question…?

“The power of the Gospel is its Truth, not how many people pretend to confess it.” Ouch! That’s gotta hurt.
FWIW, we don’t have basements in the swamp known as Houston 😦
