The Glorious Body of Christ

Glorious Body of Christ

‘Glorious’ is probably the last adjective most modern writers would use to describe the Christian Church. Yet R. B. Kuiper chose his title, The Glorious Body of Christ, advisedly, for he wished to emphasize what he believed to be a sadly neglected aspect of the subject, that the Church of Jesus Christ is glorious.

Description The Church and her Antiquity and Perpetuity, Unity, Holiness, Apostolicity; Membership; Truth; Preaching; Evangelism; Worship; etc. Probably the finest one-volume work available on this urgently important subject.

The fact remains that the church of God, far from being a tangled heap of wreckage, is even now God’s own perfectly proportioned temple, built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Jesus Christ Himself as the chief cornerstone, in whom all the building is fitly framed together and all believers are built together for a habitation of God through the Spirit (Ephesians 2:20-22). God omniscient sees it thus. So does God’s child with the eye of faith.

One of the most biblically orthodox and comprehensive treatments on the Church anywhere. I first read this book in my seminary class on ecclesiology with Sinclair Ferguson and benefited immensely from it. Highly Recommended!”
